Week 38: Filipino Beef Salpicao  with Sinangag

With two upcoming events out of town the next two weekends, I was looking for a quick, easy recipe for this weekend so I could focus on cleaning and prepping to leave the kids. This recipe caught my eye and even had the link for the garlic rice as well!

With Fred Meyer employees striking I had to find somewhere else to shop. I am teacher union proud supporting other union members, but sheesh it had been awhile since I have done my grocery shopping in store rather than pick up (aside from Trader Joe's and Costco). I was completely lost at Winco and probably annoying all the people stocking shelves at 7 am. All that said, I was missing green onions for this recipe when I got home and subbed yellow onion.

This recipe was super easy to follow, but I got rid of my wok (too many kitchen gadgets for my small kitchen, so I improvised with my enameled Dutch oven. It worked well and I was able to deglaze it easily for the sauce. I also doubled the meat so we would have leftovers for lunch.

Overall, this was a pretty good. I might make it again for a quick meal. The crispy garlic/onion mix was a nice touch!
